We have lots going on this week, with a candidate night Tuesday, Cincy Fringe on Friday and Rollergirls on Saturday!
Tuesday we'll be hosting Tony Fischer, candidate for Cincinnati City Council.
I recently came back home to Cincinnati after serving five years in the U.S. Army as a combat infantryman with two tours of duty in Iraq. While the Army encourages departing soldiers to search nationwide for jobs, I returned home to Cincinnati because I love this community and I believe in it. Cincinnati needs more people and from my diverse experiences outside of the City I know how we can get the community to grow again. As a member of Cincinnati City Council, I will be focused on three priorities that will attract new residents and business to our community.
You can read more about him on his website. He'll be happy to meet any constituents and talk with them about his campaign and the positions he holds on the issues that most concern Cincinnatians.
This week we saw
- A Yoo to-do.
- Cheney likes to dick around.
- How to discuss the stupidity of UC College Republicans is debated.
- Like "dog bites man", certain things are not news stories.
- Add "Mancow can't withstand torture" to the list of non-news stories.
Coming Soon:
- DL goes to the Fringe Festival, Friday May 29, 2009. Come join us!
- We're going to see the Cincinnati Rollergirls match on Saturday, May 30, 2009. Buy your tickets with us and save!
- Add our Google calendar to your calendar! Use XML, iCal or a web browser to keep in sync with Drinking Liberally Cincinnati!
We'll be upstairs in the pool room: Go inside, up the staircase just past the hostess and turn right.
The Hyde Park Tavern has good parking, an excellent drink selection, a unique and delicious "gourmet bar food" menu, and friendly, efficient staff.
The 69 bus stops a short walk away at Marburg and Erie, just past The Coffee Emporium. The 51 bus stops just north of Victoria Ave and Paxton Ave, a pleasant three-quarter mile walk or bike ride away, straight east down Victoria Ave to Erie.
