The Price For Freedom

This week, The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center has reported that it will need in upwards to 3 million dollars in funds in order to operate. The Freedom Center relies on revenue from admissions, donations, and grants to operate but recently there has been a decline in visitors and individual contributions.

It is very important that we keep an institution such as this operating in the city. The museum teaches visitors the significance of the Underground Railroad and pays tribute to many historical figures that have fought for civil rights and freedom. John Pepper, CEO of the Freedom Center has a plan, which will help keep the museum operating, but we can all help out by paying a visit, contributing, and spreading the word about the purpose of this landmark.

The Underground Railroad Freedom Center is something that everyone in Cincinnati can take pride in.
