Ironweed Film Club is like a progressive Netflix in that sends you DVDs of independendent films and documentaries that are rarely seen outside of film festivals. What's more, Ironweed also encourages members to start film clubs to watch the films--AND to take political action based on the subject matter of the films.
For example, Ironweed is currently promoting films made in and about North Korea. At the same time, the site is circulating a petition encouraging the US to stand up for human rights in North Korea.
I haven't joined yet (membership is $14.95 per month), but I must admit I'm tempted. Anyone else interested?
