Newt Gingrich: Brain Dead to U.S....

Right after this post.

Sure, there are numerous reasons why Newt deserves to be on the Brain Dead board. His comments that women are unfit for military duty due to “monthly infections.” Shutting down the government because Clinton “snubbed” him on Air Force One. Giving his first wife divorce papers while she lay in a hospital bed, recuperating from cancer treatment.

However, I’d like to nominate him for some recent exploits. Taking a cue from Madonna, Newt has re-invented himself as a public policy “intellectual” and political commentator-for-hire. Where he once attacked Democrats for corruption (Contract with America? That was sooo 90s), he is now unleashing his ire on Republicans, in particular, Jack Abramoff. As he was quoted in Salon, "People did the wrong things and they should not be allowed to get away with it."

For once, I agree with him: they should not be allowed to get away with it. Including Gingrich himself. He should not be allowed to commentate on NPR (as he did a few days ago), considering that he wanted to “zero out” public broadcasting at the height of his power. And he should not be allowed to commentate on the Abramaoff scandal, as he himself was reprimanded by the House in the 90s for ethical violations and ordered to pay a $300,000 penalty.

Pot. Kettle. Black.

So, without further ado, I would like to proclaim Newt Gingrich Brain Dead to U.S. Stick a feeding tube in him, he’s done.
