Brazilian rapist not excommunicated

This is un-fucking-believeable. The rapist of the 9-year old Brazilian girl, whose mother and doctor were excommunicated by the Church for helping the girl get an abortion, is still a member of the Catholic Church. That's right, the rapist is still part of the church. Apparently, the dumbass regional archbishop thinks rape is not a big deal:

Upon learning of the abortion, the regional archbishop excommunicated the doctors, as well as the girl's mother. He did not excommunicate the step-father, saying the crime he is alleged to have committed, although deplorable, was not as bad as ending a fetus's life.
