I'M OLD!!!

Apparently John McCain is still having some issues keeping names straight. From last night's debate, here's a portion of his answer to whether he would use a litmus test for Supreme Court nominations:

"I voted for Justice Breyer and Justice Ginsburg...Senator Obama voted against
Justice Breyer and Justice Roberts on the grounds that they didn't meet his
ideological standards."


Quite a compelling statement from Senator McCain...except for the teeny little inconvenient fact that Stephen Breyer was nominated in 1994, ten years before Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate.

Most likely, McCain was just confused and said Breyer when he meant to refer to Justice Samuel Alito. Which is understandable, because the original subject matter of the tomato/tomatoe song was in fact Breyer/Alito.

Oddly enough, McCain did not discuss the nominee he so strenuously supported to replace Harriet Miers after she removed her name from consideration:
