Inside Kentucky republican politics

Ever wondered what goes through the mind of Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)? "Hmm, let's see, the party's mired in a quagmire of corruption, president Bush is driving people away from the republican brand in droves, support for the war is at an all-time low, so how can I revitalize my image? Oh I know how! Let's get a group of pro-war vets together and make an ad praising me for my support of the unpopular war!! Brilliant!" Somewhere the Dems are salivating...

And on a more serious note, it sounds like we're getting an explanation on why Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY) hasn't been making any public appearances recently. It seems that the last time he did, he complained about "little green doctors" hitting and attacking him. It's been long rumored that Bunning has been suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's type symptoms. It's horrible to watch and think about, but at the same time it does make one skeptical of whether he's fit to continue as a working member of Congress.
