There was an Ohio State House bill introduced in early March (H.B. 529) that was intended to strengthen the controls around foster care and adoptive parent screenings. This good sense piece of legislation was almost unanimously passed through the House. In fact there was only one dissenter.
Where was this representative from? Anderson Township.
Where was Marcus Feisel residing in foster care? Anderson Township.
And just who is the state representative from Anderson Township? Yep, you guessed it, Tom Brinkman.
So now I make the plea to Anderson Township. GET THAT MOTHER FUCKIN' BRINKMAN OUT OF THAT MOTHER FUCKIN' HOUSE!!!
Correction: Tom Brinkman voted NO on the final version of the bill, SB238. He was one of four who voted NO and the only one from this area. SB238 did pass 91-4 but this doesn't change the fact that Brinkman had a chance to protect our children and didn't.

Holly Schlaack does a fantastic job of educating reviewer in her book Invisible Kids (www.InvisibleKidsTheBook.com) without them even knowing it. I was so engrossed in the stories of foster children that I didn't realize I was learning important information about the lifelong impact of abuse and neglect on kids as the rest of society.
