New poll says Democrats' chances looking up

NPR has results from a new poll (article here, poll results in PDF here) on its web-site, focusing on the 50 most competitive races in the House. Forty of these are held by Republicans, and the rest by Democrats. According to the poll, only 3-in-10 plan to vote to reelect the incumbent, which is good news for Democrats hoping to pick up seats.

What's also interesting to me is that voters are showing more interest in the November elections and roughly half say they are "more enthusiastic than usual." People holding politicians accountable. Imagine that! Plus, I suppose when gas is at $3 a gallon, one's enthusiasm for elections is bound to go up.
