As if there were no more pressing issues to focus on in Kentucky, State Representative Melvin Henley (R-Murray) wants to require all KY schools to use A.D (anno Domini) and B.C. (Before Christ) in reference to historical dates.
Not only is this a blatant attempt to court social conservatives before general elections in Kentucky, it is also a waste of time. Why? For many students and their parents, B.C. means "Before Cellphones."
I'm still pondering how I managed to survive school in the Dark Ages before the advent of cellphones. I mean, I had to contend with Pop Rocks, Lawn Darts and asbestos growing up...
