Seriously, can these guys even lie well anymore?

HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson says he doesn't have to give a government contract to any company that doesn't support the president. Then when pressed on the issue, his spokesperson says, "oh, just kidding".

Personally, I'm just disappointed. I look forward to their misguided explanations for every fiasco and scandal, it's humorous. But now it's like they're not even trying and they just don't care (not unlike when The Cheat tried to do his own cartoon of Homestar).

And to top it off, one of TPM's astute readers makes an interesting observation concerning how exactly Jackson found out said contract bidder's political persuasion. Good luck to him in getting out of this one, he's going to need it.
