Election Day - Open Thread

Election Day is finally here and it’s time to take back America!

What is everyone doing for Election Day to get out the vote? What have you experienced while out and about at the polling places or on the phone? Why does it always rain on Election Day?

It’s not too late to take part in our Democracy – if you have some free time today, there are plenty of candidates and issues to help out with. Just stop by any campaign headquarter and they will be more than willing to find something for you to do. You can also head out on the Internet to Do More Than Vote – a website that has listings of things you can do in your area.

If phone calls are your thing, make sure to check out Call For Change from Move On. It’s easy to do and can be done from the comfort of your home – all you need is a phone and an Internet connection.

If you haven’t voted yet, what are you waiting for? Get out to your polling place and VOTE! If you aren’t sure where your polling place is or you still want to brush up on the candidates and the issues, check out Smart Voter. They have all the information you need right at your fingertips.

When you are out and about and see anything that doesn’t seem right or if you are denied your right to vote, call 1-866-OUR-VOTE. It’s the number set up by Election Protection Coalition and is staffed by real people to make sure that everyone gets their vote counted.

Post your comments and let us know what you’re up to today, what you have seen, and what you have experienced on this day that we take back our country.
